Gaurav Gogoi urges Assam govt to consult environmental experts for further infrastructural projects

Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi has expressed his concern on infrastructural projects that are about to take place which will go through deforestation and lead to environmental impact.

According to the sources, Assam Government has proposed Digholi Pukhuri-Noonmati flyover in Guwahati. Cutting down of trees for the projects will pose significant challenges both for the locals and the environment as it will harm the region’s green cover, air will be polluted and flood hit will raise high.

A release by Gaurav Gogoi reads, “Gogoi called for an environmental impact assessment (EIA) and urged the government to consult with environmental experts and local communities to ensure sustainable and responsible development.”
