Health Camp Conducted for Manipur IDPs

As part of the Swachhata Action Plan 2025–26, a Swachhta Health Camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) was organised today at the Kwakta Sericulture Relief Camp, Bishnupur District, Manipur.The camp was organised by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in collaboration with the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC). The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, preventive healthcare, and overall well-being among the displaced population residing in the relief camp.Specialist doctors from various departments of RIMS, including Clinical Psychology, Anatomy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Dermatology, Community Medicine, and Ophthalmology, provided medical consultations, conducted basic health check-ups, and delivered health education with an emphasis on hygiene practices, sanitation, and prevention of communicable diseases.

A total of 303 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services during the health camp, and free medicines were distributed to the attendees. The camp also underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around living areas as a preventive measure against communicable diseases.The initiative reflects RIMS, Imphal’s continued commitment to community outreach and public health promotion, especially among vulnerable and displaced populations, in alignment with the objectives of the Swachhata Action Plan 2025–26.
