ICICI Prudential Life Insurance announced that it has disbursed over ₹900 crore in loans against traditional life insurance policies in FY2025, marking a robust 60% year-on-year growth. This facility was extended to more than 42,700 policyholders, providing timely financial support without disrupting their long-term savings plans.
The loan facility enables customers to borrow up to 80% of their policy’s surrender value. More than 98% of the loans were disbursed within 24 hours, thanks to the company’s seamless, paperless application process available via its website and mobile app. Mr. Amish Banker, Chief Operations Officer, said, “Loans against policies provide quick liquidity while helping customers stay committed to their long-term financial goals. The significant uptake reflects growing customer trust in the product’s flexibility and value.”
Financial advisors observed a sharp rise in demand for policy-backed loans, especially among small business owners and salaried professionals seeking short-term liquidity. The ease of access and assurance of continued policy benefits have made it an attractive financial planning tool across the region.
