Indian Army BSF recovers arms and ammunition in Manipur Kakching

During regular search operations and area control exercises, security authorities in Manipur seized a massive shipment of weapons and ammunition. In an effort to preserve calm throughout the state, the forces have kept heightened vigilance and vigil in the periphery and susceptible areas of the hill and valley districts.

One country-made 9mm pistol with magazine, two Carbine magazines, one.36 hand grenade, one detonator, five live rounds of ammunition, three empty cartridges, one 38.8 tear gas gun, eight tear smoke shells, one Baofeng handset with charger, one helmet, one magazine pouch, and other various items were among the important items that the forces recovered from the Laimanai Laimaton Ching areas of Kakching district.

Along National Highway 2, the security officers also made sure that 14 vehicles delivering necessities could travel freely. To guarantee the free and secure transit of the vehicles, stringent security measures have been implemented in all susceptible areas and a security escort has been provided in sensitive areas. Additionally, 110 Nakas/Checkpoints were set up in various state districts, both in the valley and the hills. However, a large number of people were not detained by the police for their involvement in infractions.
