As part of the nationwide organizational restructuring drive launched by the Indian National Congress, the “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan” campaign was held at Congress Bhavan in Thoubal. The programme was organized by the District Congress Committee (DCC), Thoubal, in line with directives issued by the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) for reorganization and appointment of new District Congress Committee presidents. The launching programme was attended by AICC Observer Ajoy Kumar Lalloo, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Of Ibobi Singh, CLP Leader K. Meghachandra, Khangabok MLA Okram Surjakumar Singh, former Ministers M. Okendro and M. Hemanta, MPCC Treasurer and former MLA of Wabagai Md Fajur Rahim, former Moirang MLA P. Sarat, along with several other party leaders and office bearers.
Addressing the gathering, AICC Observer Ajoy Kumar Lalloo stated that the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is being undertaken under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He said the campaign aims to reorganize and strengthen the party structure across all districts of the country to enhance its organizational capacity. He further stated that the newly selected District Congress Committee presidents from various districts will work in close coordination with the party’s national leadership to effectively address public grievances and strengthen grassroots engagement.
He added that the initiative launched by the AICC is a significant step towards rejuvenating and strengthening the party. The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (SSA) is intended to foster better coordination among party members, elected representatives, office bearers, and local civil society organisations. The campaign will also enhance accountability and transparency within the party structure. He expressed confidence that the new organisational measures will help identify responsible and capable leaders at the district level and bring forward sincere leadership committed to serving the people.
