Indus Towers and NEAID join forces to provide critical flood relief in Northeast India

Indus Towers Limited, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure providers, has extended crucial humanitarian support to flood-affected regions in Assam, Manipur, and Tripura under its flagship CSR initiative, ‘Pragati’. In collaboration with Northeast Centre for Equity Action on Integrated Development (NEAID), the company distributed 1,030 dry ration kits to displaced families in severely impacted areas including Cachar, Imphal, and remote Tripura villages.

Indus Towers employees played an active role on the ground, ensuring the timely distribution of essentials and offering hands-on support. “Our employees volunteered wholeheartedly to address urgent food needs and help affected families begin their recovery,” said Shri Rajender Singh Gurung, Circle CEO, Indus Towers Limited.

In Imphal, where flooding disrupted supply chains and paralyzed movement, the relief effort helped stabilize the local economy. Traders at Imphal market reported improved footfall and resumption of basic food supplies following the aid distribution. “This intervention eased the pressure on vendors and brought back buyers,” noted a local shopkeeper. NEAID Co-Founder Shri Meraj Ahmed emphasized the urgency of the effort, stating, “With Indus Towers’ support, we’re reaching the most vulnerable and aiding both immediate relief and long-term recovery.”
