On Thursday, security forces arrested an active member of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) with weapons in Imphal West district. The individual, Salam Shyam Singh (44), was apprehended at a rented house in Keishampat Leimajam Leikai. Following intelligence leads, authorities also detained his associate, Salam Naobi Singh (43), from Kakching district, who was in possession of ammunition and explosives. The operation resulted in the recovery of 111 rounds of various ammunition, a high-explosive grenade, detonators, mobile phones, and Aadhaar cards. These arrests are part of ongoing efforts against militant networks in Manipur, with investigations continuing to uncover the origins of the recovered materials and connections to other operatives.
