LPG Rates Revised!

Starting September 1, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹51.50, while the cost of 14.2-kg domestic cylinders remains unchanged. In Delhi, the revised price for a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder is now ₹1,580, down from ₹1,631.50. Other major cities have also seen similar price cuts—Kolkata’s price is now ₹1,684, Mumbai ₹1,531.50, and Chennai ₹1,738, as per Indian Oil Corporation data.

The 14.2-kg domestic cylinder rates have remained constant since April 8. In Delhi, it is priced at ₹853; in Chennai, ₹868.50; in Kolkata, ₹879; and in Mumbai, ₹852.50. LPG price revisions are typically driven by fluctuations in global crude oil prices and other international market dynamics.

These changes will directly impact businesses, especially small enterprises and restaurants that depend on LPG for daily operations. Prices also vary across states due to local taxes and freight charges.

On August 8, 2025, the Union Cabinet approved ₹30,000 crore in compensation to OMCs, to be disbursed in twelve instalments, aiming to stabilize LPG prices amid global volatility.
