Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the governor of Manipur, attended the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Convocation on Wednesday and praised the school’s consistent development into a hub for scientific and technological excellence. Speaking during the NIT, Manipur’s 12th Convocation at the City Convention Centre in this city, the governor praised the engineering school’s consistent development as a hub for scientific and technological excellence. He called on educators, students, and everyone else involved to put more emphasis on innovation, research, and the National Education Policy 2020 vision. In addition to congratulating the graduating students, Governor Bhalla recognized the contribution of the institute, parents, and teachers to their achievement. The governor counseled the graduates to respect ethics and principles, strike a balance between tradition and innovation, and make significant contributions to the country and society. He reminded the students that their education and training must be in line with the country’s overarching goal of creating a Viksit Bharat by 2047, in which India will be a world leader in inclusive growth, sustainability, and technology.
Bhalla emphasized that true learning happens outside of the classroom and urged the kids to follow their dreams with bravery and honesty, quoting the famous industrialist Ratan Tata. The Governor awarded PhD degrees and medals to departing students from several departments. The event was presided over by the former chairperson of the Board of Governors of NIT, Manipur, and chairman and managing director (CMD) of National Aluminium Company Ltd., Bajrang Lal Bagra.
