Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Manipur on the festive occasion of Yaoshang, which celebrates the arrival of spring and embodies the state’s rich cultural heritage and communal unity. He highlighted the festival’s events, such as the sacred Yaoshang Mei Thaba and Thabal Chongba, which promote social bonds through vibrant cultural performances and devotional music. The Governor emphasized the festival’s blend of faith and festivity, the engagement of youth in sports and activities, and called for celebrations grounded in mutual respect, peace, and brotherhood, wishing for happiness and prosperity in the state.
Chief Minister Y Khemchand also conveyed warm wishes, noting that Yaoshang, celebrated for five days from the full moon day of Lamta, signifies new beginnings and serves as a platform for social bonding across diverse communities. He pointed out the social impact of the festival’s sports and events on fostering connections among people of various backgrounds.
