Manipur Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the arson attack on the SDC Kumbi office on September 26, 2024. The accused, identified as Moirangthem Ajaykumar (22), Wahengbam Prabhakar (27), and Khumanthem Jesper (23), have been remanded into police custody for four days, as authorities continue their efforts to apprehend other suspects.
Security forces have ramped up search operations in vulnerable areas across the hill and valley districts. During a raid in Leirongthel Pitra Uyok Ching, Thoubal District, security personnel recovered several weapons and ammunition, including AK and SLR rifles, hand grenades, and detonators.
To ensure the safe passage of essential goods, security convoys escorted 107 vehicles on NH-37 and 81 vehicles on NH-2. Additionally, 110 checkpoints have been set up across the region, with no detentions reported for violations during the operations.
