Manipur security forces dismantled 20 acres of illegal poppy cultivation in Tengnoupal

Twenty acres of illicit poppy production were destroyed by Manipur security forces working with the forest division in the Loikong hill ranges in the Tengnoupal district. The illegal poppy elimination drive was started by the security forces in response to particular intelligence. After the cultivation was removed, a formal case was filed and an investigation was started. Earlier on March 1, the forest division and security forces conducted an operation in Tengnoupal, Manipur, which resulted in the destruction of 15 acres of illegal poppy production. Part of the ongoing attempts to stop illegal poppy planting and disrupt drug production in the area is the poppy destruction program.
