On February 20, the Senapati River was inspected by the Senapati district administration of Manipur as part of the ongoing Clean Senapati River Campaign. The project, which was spearheaded by Rang David Kung, MCS, ADM Senapati, and Adahrii Maheo, MCS, CEO of the Autonomous District Council Senapati, involved the Karong Senapati Town Committee, Senapati District Students Association, and Police Department. The inspection team found several sites where contaminants were being dumped straight into the river and issued strong warnings to discontinue the practice right now.
The detrimental impacts of pollution and the pressing necessity to safeguard the district’s main water source were also brought to the attention of the river’s residents. In the upcoming days, cleanliness drives and awareness programs involving local leaders and citizens will be planned as part of the campaign. In order to protect the river and guarantee a cleaner environment for everybody, authorities have urged the public to actively participate.
