Post-festive season demand remained strong, driving impressive sales growth for leading automakers in November compared to the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki India recorded its highest-ever total sales, including exports, at 2,29,021 units, marking a 26% year-on-year increase. Domestic passenger vehicle dispatches rose 21% to 1,70,971 units, while total domestic sales, including LCV Super Carry, hit 1,74,593 units—the highest November sales in 40 years. Small cars and SUVs both saw significant growth, with retail sales up 31%, and small car sales—including S Presso, Alto K10, Celerio, and WagonR—surging 37%. SUVs now contribute 30% of total sales, though factory stock is low, with pending bookings around 1.5 lakh units.
Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra reported domestic passenger vehicle dispatches of 57,436 and 56,336 units, up 22% each. Hyundai saw a 4% rise to 50,340 units, Toyota 28% to 33,752 units, and Kia 24% to 25,489 units. Renault grew 30% to 3,662 units. In two-wheelers, Honda sold 5,91,136 units (+25%), Royal Enfield 1,00,670 units (+22%), while Bajaj Auto’s sales dipped 1% to 2,02,510 units.
