KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, located at Khangabok in Thoubal district, celebrated its 38th Foundation Day today with a grand programme, along with the distribution of annual prizes to meritorious students. The event was held at the school campus in the presence of students, teachers, parents and distinguished guests. Heirok Assembly Constituency MLA Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam attended the function as the Chief Guest. Founder-cum-Chairman of the school, Kh. Menjor Mangang, presided over the programme. Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur Chairman Takhallambam Ojit; BOSEM Secretary S. Jitelal; Zonal Education Officer (Zone-III), Thoubal, N. Rajen; SK TV Editor Raj Nongthombam; Principal of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Dr. Kh. Romenkumar; and Co-founder Kh. (Ongbi) Thaba Leima attended the event as Guests of Honours.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest MLA Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam said that a school should be a place where children feel secure, cared for and inspired. He stressed that the responsibility of shaping students does not lie with teachers alone, but also with school management committees and parents, who must work together for the holistic development of children. MLA Radheshyam, former Education Minister of Manipur, continued that children are like tender saplings whose future depends on proper care and guidance. He emphasized that teachers and parents must nurture students with understanding and encouragement, without putting unnecessary pressure on them. Children should be guided with patience and affection so that they grow into responsible and capable citizens, he added.
BOSEM Secretary S. Jitelal, in his address, appreciated KM Blooming Higher Secondary School for imparting not only academic education but also promoting co-curricular activities that help students become well-rounded individuals and prepare them for life ahead. Highlighting the role of teachers, he said that teaching should go beyond textbooks and syllabi. Teachers should build a healthy and positive relationship with students, encourage curiosity, and adopt practical and experimental methods in classrooms so that students can understand and apply what they learn. He also urged teachers to constantly improve themselves with a spirit of dedication and service. Chairman Kh. Menjor Mangang spoke about the humble beginnings of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, the challenges faced in its early years, and the steady progress the institution has made over time to reach its present status.
