Reliance Consumer Products Limited is set to invest ₹1,156 crore to establish an integrated manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu, according to State Industries Minister TRB Rajaa. Announcing the development on X, Rajaa said the facility will be located in SIPCOT Allikulam Industrial Park in Thoothukudi and will create 2,000 jobs over the next five years. Spread across 60 acres, the unit will produce a variety of goods including regional snacks, biscuits, spices, atta, and edible oil. Rajaa praised Chief Minister MK Stalin’s Dravidian Model governance for attracting top FMCG players to the state. In a separate boost to Tamil Nadu’s industrial growth, two central PSUs — Cochin Shipyard Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd — will invest a total of ₹30,000 crore to build advanced Greenfield shipyards. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared that these projects will together generate 55,000 jobs, positioning Tamil Nadu as a leading shipbuilding and maritime innovation hub. Cochin Shipyard’s phase one will generate 10,000 jobs, while Mazagon Dock’s investment is expected to create 45,000 jobs.
