National Integration Tour delegation reaches Dimapur

The National Integration Tour (NIT), organized by the Assam Rifles under its Civic Action Programme, has recently arrived in Dimapur during its Northeast phase. This initiative involves a delegation of 23 members alongside 68 officials and troops, embarking on a 15-day journey focused on promoting national unity, enhancing civil-military cooperation, and expanding perspectives on governance and development.

On February 21, the group had an interaction with the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Corps in Dimapur, where discussions illuminated the critical nature of civil-military synergy. The participants learned about the constructive contributions of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in community development, conflict resolution, and overarching nation-building efforts. They gained first-hand insights into the Indian Army’s and Assam Rifles’ roles in safeguarding national security and fostering peace and progress within the Northeastern region, as stated by IGAR(S) in a press release.

This interaction served as a fruitful forum for an open dialogue, promoting the exchange of ideas on pressing regional issues, security matters, and developmental initiatives. It reinforced the trust between armed forces and civil society, emphasizing the collective responsibility of various stakeholders in maintaining peace and stability. Following this engagement, the delegation traveled by bus to Kohima to continue the next leg of the National Integration Tour, which is a pivotal initiative aimed at nurturing people-centric interactions and fostering harmonious relations throughout the region.
