A new opportunity for young people in Manipur to build careers abroad has emerged with NSDC International partnering Manipur University to set up a Japanese Language Training Centre in Imphal. The initiative focuses on preparing youth from the state and the wider Northeast for employment opportunities in Japan through structured language training.
The centre will offer courses designed to meet Japan’s workforce requirements, helping students develop strong language proficiency and job readiness. Training will cater to multiple sectors such as caregiving, hospitality, manufacturing and agriculture, offering learners flexibility in choosing career paths.
NSDC International will manage curriculum design, assessments and learner support, while Manipur University will provide training facilities on campus. This arrangement ensures that students in Imphal can access international-standard education without leaving the state. By bringing globally recognised training closer to home, the initiative aims to empower young people with practical skills, confidence and international exposure, enabling them to pursue stable and rewarding careers beyond India’s borders.
