New Manipur CM Y Khemchand Singh offers prayers for peace in state

A day after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh today offered prayers at Shri Govindaji Temple, seeking divine blessings for the welfare of Manipur. “Blessed to offer prayers, seeking divine blessings for the welfare of Manipur, at a time when renewed efforts towards peace, unity, and development are being pursued with sincere resolve,” he wrote on social media.
“I pray that Shri Govindaji showers His blessings upon Manipur and guides us on the path towards a #vikshitbharat, #vikshitManipur, where lasting peace is built on the foundations of equality, dignity, empathy, mutual respect, and understanding among all communities. May the Lord grant us wisdom and guidance in fulfilling this sacred responsibility,” he added. Talking to reporters at Lok Bhavan soon after taking oath on Wednesday, Singh said he wanted to fulfil the faith reposed in him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that Manipur comprises 36 communities and that the state was taken care of for long by these communities. “Our hope now is for all to help in bringing a peaceful atmosphere,” he had said.
