Preparations in full swing for 18th Tamenglong Orange Festival

Preparations are gaining momentum in Tamenglong district of Manipur for the much-awaited 18th edition of the Tamenglong Orange Festival — the state’s premier cultural and agricultural celebration that highlights the region’s reputation as the “Orange Bowl of Manipur.” To ensure smooth execution of the event, Tamenglong Deputy Commissioner Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa (IAS) chaired a comprehensive coordination meeting on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat.

The meeting, attended by key district officials including SP Tamenglong Lanmiyo Luikham, SDO Tamenglong D. Meidinbui (MCS), ADC CEO Kachamthai F. Gangmei (MCS), DFO Kh. Hitler, and several other department heads, focused on reviewing preparations and assigning clear responsibilities for each department involved.

Dr. Dangshawa, who also serves as the Chairman of the Orange Festival, announced that the three-day event will be held from December 17 to 19 this year. To streamline coordination, the district administration has constituted 22 sub-committees, each tasked with specific duties ranging from logistics, venue management, and security to cultural programming, tourism promotion, and farmer engagement.
