Several student and community organisations have jointly announced a peaceful rally to be held on January 28 under the theme “We Want Political Solution, Not Popular Government.”
According to a public notice, the rally is intended to express concern over the proposed formation of a popular government in Manipur without what organisers describe as a prior political settlement addressing long-standing issues.
Participants will assemble at 10:00 AM at Phungkhothang Guite Mawltual in Hiangtam, Lamka, and proceed to Peace Ground, Tuibong, where the programme will conclude.
Organisers have appealed to the public to maintain peace, discipline, and non-violence during the event. The notice was jointly issued by leaders of KSO Churachandpur, HSA-JHQS Tuithaphai, and ZSF GHQS Lamka.
