Security Forces Intensify Operations IN Maipur ; Arrest 5 KCP((PWG) Cadres

Operations against militants in Manipur remain intensified with security forces arresting five active cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP (PWG)] during separate operations conducted in Imphal East and Imphal West districts on November 26 and 27. Official said an active cadre of KCP (PWG), identified as Khulem Robindro Singh (36) of Luker Mayai Leikai under Patsoi police station, Imphal West district was arrested from his residence on Thursday. The cadre was involved in recruitment of youths for their party. One Aadhaar card was seized from him. On Wednesday, three active cadres of KCP (PWG) were arrested from their respective residences in Imphal East district.


They have been identified as Md. Ayub Khan alias Thoiba (28) of Hiyangthang Tarahei Konjil, Imphal West district; Md. Salim (35) of Kairang Mamang Leikai and Md. Ali (46) of Hatta near Public Hospital.They were involved in extortion from the people, oil pumps, private schools and government colleges in the Imphal East area. A receipt pertaining to KCP (PWG) and two mobile phones were seized from them. Meanwhile, another cadre of an outlawed outfit, identified as Yumnam Chandra Singh (42) alias Baby of Kontha Ahallup Makha Leikai under Heingang police station in Imphal East district was arrested from his residence on Thursday. Officials said that two HE grenades, one mobile handset and an Aadhaar card was recovered from his possession.
