Security forces safely defuse three IEDs along Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur

Security forces in Manipur successfully defused three improvised explosive devices (IEDs along the Indo-Myanmar border on January 19, preventing a possible threat to both security personnel and civilians moving through the sensitive frontier region. According to officials, the explosives were detected during a routine area domination and sanitisation operation carried out close to Border Pillars 72 and 73. The IEDs were safely neutralised at the spot, following standard safety procedures, ensuring that no harm was caused during the operation.

Security personnel had stepped up vigilance along the border following intelligence inputs and ongoing security concerns in the region. As part of this effort, teams conducted a careful and systematic sweep of the area. During this search, the concealed explosive devices were located in the border zone and immediately secured. Officials said the operation was part of continuous measures aimed at preventing cross-border infiltration and possible sabotage attempts. The Indo-Myanmar border is considered strategically important, and security agencies remain alert to any activity that could disturb peace and stability in the area.

Following the recovery of the IEDs, security agencies have further strengthened surveillance and patrolling along the border. Regular checks, increased movement of patrol teams, and close monitoring of vulnerable stretches are being carried out to ensure that such threats are detected early.
