Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. has been conferred with the Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI) Award for Excellence in Healthcare at the AHPI Global Conclave 2026, under the category of Excellence in Hospital Operations (Non-Clinical). The award ceremony was held at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai. The conclave brought together representatives and leadership from major private hospitals and healthcare leaders across the country. The award was received on behalf of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. by Anisha Khundongbam, Deputy Director – Finance and Operations, and Shamurailatpam Dejirani Devi, Assistant Manager – Operations. This prestigious recognition reflects Shija Hospitals’ sustained commitment to robust governance, regulatory compliance, patient safety, operational efficiency, and environmentally responsible hospital management. The assessment highlighted clearly defined governance structures with assigned roles and responsibilities, full compliance with applicable legal and statutory requirements, and a well-articulated scope of services that is
displayed bilingually and effectively communicated to staff and patients.

The evaluation also covered structured and efficient registration and admission processes
across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency services, along with well-defined internal and
external transfer and referral policies. Strong emphasis was placed on safety and risk
management through a comprehensive, documented patient safety program addressing
environmental and fire safety, non-clinical risks, and regular electrical safety audits.

Facility management systems were assessed for ensuring a safe and secure environment,
including engineering services, utilities, medical equipment maintenance, medical gas
systems, IT infrastructure, and preparedness for fire and non-fire emergencies.

Environmental stewardship initiatives—such as the use of eco-friendly materials, naturally lit
and clean spaces, water conservation through rainwater harvesting and wastewater
treatment, and energy optimization via renewable and energy-efficient systems—were also
commended. The assessment further reviewed dietary services, housekeeping practices, waste
management protocols, and information management systems, with emphasis on hygiene,
safety, data security, accurate records, and effective communication with patients and
families. This recognition reinforces Shija Hospitals’ focus on excellence in non-clinical operations as
a core pillar of quality healthcare delivery.
