The Tata Nexon, India’s leading sub-compact SUV, has received a significant price reduction following the recent GST cut, just before the festive season. This move is expected to increase its popularity among buyers. The price cuts range from ₹68,000 to ₹1.55 lakh depending on the variant, with new prices effective from September 22. Now, the Nexon starts below ₹8 lakh, with prices ranging from ₹7.32 lakh to ₹14.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Higher-end petrol variants like the Creative Plus and Fearless Plus, available in both manual and automatic transmissions, saw discounts of over ₹1 lakh, with the top Fearless Plus PS Dark DCT variant receiving the highest cut of ₹1.25 lakh. Most petrol variants, except the base Smart petrol manual, got reductions exceeding ₹80,000. The Nexon offers petrol, petrol-CNG, and diesel options, with manual, AMT, and automatic transmissions. The GST reduction lowered tax rates on petrol variants from 29% to 18% and diesel from 31% to 18%, resulting in substantial price drops across all variants, including CNG models which also saw discounts over ₹1 lakh.
