The Indian Army recovers 25 weapons and ammunition in Manipur

The Indian Army, working with other security agencies, has retrieved 25 guns, some ammunition, and warlike stocks (WLS) from three districts in Manipur, which are located in both hill and valley regions, in a series of coordinated operations over the past few days. In coordinated operations, the Army, Assam Rifles, other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Manipur Police retrieved 25 weapons, some ammunition, and WLS from three districts: Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Bishnupur, according to a defense spokeswoman.

One modified.303 Sniper, one.22 rifle, two single barrel rifles, one 9 mm pistol, one 7.62 mm Russian RPD machine gun, two 5.56 mm INSAS rifles, two self-loading rifles, one IED, 100 gm of commercial explosive, two tube launchers, two.32 pistols, one 2-inch mortar, one 12-bore single barrel gun, one heavy calibre launcher, two Pompi guns, and other warlike items were among the weapons and ammunition found. According to the spokesperson, two 7.62 mm modified sniper rifles, one 7.62 mm SLR rifle, two single-barrel rifles, one 51 mm mortar, one modified grenade launcher, four IEDs, and grenades were found during an intelligence-based joint search operation on Saturday in Wathalambi.

Living in Loitang Khunou village in the Imphal West district, Kamalbabu Singh, a native of Gossaipur in the Cachar district of southern Assam, left his home to work as a supervisor for a contractor hired by the Military Engineering Services (MES) at the Leimakhong military station.
