In celebration of Women’s Equality Day on August 26, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender equality within its workforce. The company is focusing on aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
TKM has set an ambitious target to increase female representation in its workforce to 30% by 2030. Recent initiatives include the induction of 160 new female employees and the capping of the first batch of 55 women supervisors. Additionally, TKM has launched a Gender Diversity Standard Operating Procedure Manual and implemented extensive training programs.These efforts resonate strongly in the Imphal , where TKM’s gender diversity initiatives are expected to set new benchmarks for inclusivity in the local workforce.
