Weather service issued a cold wave alarm as Central India shivers

With minimum temperatures falling significantly below average throughout the state, Madhya Pradesh is still experiencing a severe cold wave. A severe cold wave is expected in Betul, Dhar, Dewas, Shivpuri, Rewa, Umaria, Katni, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari, according to warnings issued by the Meteorological Department’s Bhopal center for isolated locations in the city, Sehore, Rajgarh, Indore, Shajapur, Satna, Shahdol, Jabalpur, and Maihar. In Chhindwara and Balaghat, cold days are anticipated. In the entire state, no rainfall was reported.

All divisions saw dry weather over the previous 24 hours, although Bhopal, Rajgarh, Indore, Rewa, Jabalpur, Sehore, Shajapur, and Shahdol districts experienced severe cold wave conditions. Dhar, Nowgong in Chhatarpur, Damoh, Shivpuri, and Betul were also affected by the cold wave, and Balaghat in Malanjkhand had a chilly day. In Bhopal, Indore, Rewa, and Jabalpur divisions, minimum temperatures were significantly below average by 5.1 to 7.9 degrees Celsius, while in Ujjain, Gwalior, Shahdol, Sagar, and Chambal divisions, they were noticeably lower by 3.2 to 4.5 degrees.

Madhya Pradesh saw its lowest minimum temperature of 6°C in Rajgarh and Girvar, followed by 6.2°C in Kalyanpur and 6.4°C in Bhopal and Indore. Maximum temperatures stayed below normal across most divisions, with Khandwa the warmest at 30.5°C and Amarkantak the coolest at 22.3°C. A low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal will not affect the state, and dry weather will continue. In Bhopal, clear skies with haze, light winds, and temperatures around 26°C (max) and 7°C (min) are expected until Monday.
