Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Manipur later this month, although the exact date of the visit has not yet been finalised, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said on October 6.
Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal, Khemchand stated that Shah is expected to visit the state sometime in October.
“The Union Home Minister is likely to visit Manipur in October, but the exact date is not known yet,” the chief minister said.
He was responding to media queries during a press conference held after a meeting of the state Cabinet.
The briefing was primarily organised to convey the Manipur Cabinet’s appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service and to highlight various development initiatives and welfare programmes undertaken during his tenure.
During the press conference, Chief Minister Khemchand and government spokesperson Sapam Ranjan Singh outlined several infrastructure, welfare and development projects implemented in Manipur, along with broader initiatives highlighted by the state government.
Shah’s proposed visit comes amid continuing efforts by both the Centre and the state government to address key issues in Manipur and accelerate developmental activities.
Officials said further details regarding the Home Minister’s itinerary and engagements will be announced once the schedule is finalised.
