Arms and Ammunition Recovered in Search Operations

Security forces on Monday recovered arms and ammunition in a search operation conducted in the hill range area between Wainem and Aigejang under New Keithelmanbi Police Station, Kangpokpi district.
The recovered weapons include five bolt action rifles, one pistol with empty magazine, one .22 mm pistol with empty magazine, seven 12 bore cartridges, two .22 mm ammunition, one pompi and one pompi round. Security forces also recovered two Baofeng handsets and one P- cap in another search operation launched in Sugnu area under Sugnu-Police Station, Kakching district.


Meanwhile, security forces continued to conduct search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas across districts resulting in recovery of arms and ammunition: Movement of 112 vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 was ensured in the last 24 hours. Strict security measures were taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles. A total of 113 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different districts, both in the hills and the valley, however none was detained.
