Army Conducts Medical Camp in Churachandpur

On the occasion of the International Day of the Dentist, the Indian Army organised a medical and dental camp at Zalenphai village in Churachandpur district, as part of its continued commitment towards community welfare and humanitarian outreach. The initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery while promoting preventive health awareness, thereby reinforcing civil–military relations in the region. The camp was conducted through a synergised civil–military fusion effort, with active participation from Indian Army medical and dental specialists along with civil healthcare professionals.

The medical team included Dr T Thanglenlal DS, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Sialkot and an Army Dental Officer, who collectively provided comprehensive healthcare services to the local population. Oral screening and dental check-ups were undertaken, followed by free medical consultations, routine diagnostics, distribution of essential medicines and health counselling for villagers of all age groups. Subsequently, an awareness lecture focusing on dental health and preventive care was conducted to sensitise the community on early detection of dental ailments and the importance of timely medical intervention.

Army medical and dental officers interacted closely with the residents in a friendly and reassuring environment, offering personalized guidance on healthier living practices and lifestyle-related health risk factors. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 216 villagers, including students from The Living Water School, who expressed deep appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army and civil medical authorities in enhancing access to quality healthcare in remote and underserved areas.
