Manipur celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga alongside the rest of the world at a state-level event at Imphal’s Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium. Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Honorable Governor, marked the occasion by leading hundreds of people in a coordinated yoga practice. More than 900 people came to commemorate the event, including students, public servants, yoga instructors, security guards, and members of the public. Governor Bhalla stressed the value of integrating yoga into daily life, calling it a life-changing activity for mental and physical balance.
The worldwide goal of sustainable living and holistic health is emphasized by this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” It also fits with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s idea of “Humanity 2.0,” which encourages responsible living, planetary wellbeing, and mindful living. A special yoga session was held at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal in addition to the public event. There, the governor once again led officials and staff in a disciplined and peaceful yoga routine in a beautiful setting.
