As part of the Congress party’s reorganization efforts, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has initiated a nationwide campaign called “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.” This campaign has been launched in various locations, specifically targeting Thoubal district, with activities taking place in Lilong, Wangkhem, and Thoubal. The events were organized at the respective offices of the Lilong Block Congress Committee, Wangkhem Block Congress Committee, and Thoubal Block Congress Committee, attended by AICC Observer Ajoy Kumar Lalloo.
During the event at Wangkhem, prominent figures such as CLP Leader K. Meghachandra, former MLA Y. Surchandra Singh, MPCC Minority Cell Chairperson Md. Sakir Ahmed, Sports Department Chairperson W. Rojit, and WBCC President Alhaj Keramat Ali participated as members of the presidium. Ajoy Kumar Lalloo highlighted that the campaign is conducted under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi, aiming to bolster and reorganize the party structure at the district level nationwide.
The primary objective of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is to enhance the party’s connectivity with the public; it enables newly appointed district presidents to work in tandem with national leadership, addressing local grievances and ensuring that citizen concerns are communicated effectively to higher authorities. In addition, Ajoy Kumar Lalloo took the opportunity to gather opinions and suggestions from party members concerning the appointment of the district president, emphasizing an inclusive approach to leadership within the party.
