Unidentified miscreants has triggered a blast at the residence of Congress leader Toijam Lokendro Singh on Tuesday night, promoting tension and to stage sit-in-protest at Khurai Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai on Wednesday.
Toijam Lokendro Singh presently serves as Chairman of the Labour Department of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). The blast happened at around 10.35 pm. Luckily, no casualties were reported during the incident, reports said.
A spot inspection was conducted by Police and Forensic teams at the blast site yesterday morning.No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Congress Legislature Party leader Keisham Meghachandra has strongly condemned the incident. The incident is a serious breach of security, he stated.Meghachandra termed the explosion at the resident of a political functionary in a high-security zone, as ‘shocking’, and raised concerns over the prevailing law and order situation in Imphal.
Locals Stage Protest Against Bomb Blast
