L&T Secures Multiple EPC Orders Across Iron Ore, Steel and Zinc Sectors

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) orders from leading domestic metals and mining companies, strengthening its presence in India’s industrial infrastructure sector.

The company’s Metals & Minerals (M&M) business has received a significant order from India’s largest iron ore producer, a public sector enterprise, for Package #BE-01C of an 18 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) iron ore handling plant in Chhattisgarh. The project forms part of the miner’s ambitious expansion programme aimed at increasing its iron ore production capacity to 100 MTPA by 2030.

The scope of work awarded to L&T includes detailed design and engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockpile facilities, yard equipment, Rapid Wagon Loading System (RWLS), and related auxiliary infrastructure.

In another major development, L&T has secured multiple Design & Build and Balance of Plant (BoP) packages from a public sector Navratna company for the expansion of its steel plant in West Bengal. The expansion project will increase the plant’s production capacity from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA.

Additionally, L&T has won an EPC contract from a private sector metals producer for the development of a zinc processing plant. The project scope covers engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and associated site services.

These new project wins highlight L&T’s growing capabilities in executing large-scale industrial projects and underline the company’s strong position in India’s rapidly expanding metals and mining sector. The orders are expected to contribute to the country’s infrastructure growth and support increased production capacity across key industrial segments.
