Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Wednesday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment while felicitating successful candidates of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) 2022 examination during the 14th Foundation Day celebration of Creative Circle Coaching Institute in Imphal. Addressing the programme at Hotel Imolesh, the Chief Minister praised the coaching institute for continuing to mentor civil services aspirants despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the state’s law and order situation. Interacting with the newly selected MPSC candidates, Singh asked whether they had any doubts about the transparency of the recruitment process. The successful candidates unanimously responded that they had no such concerns. The Chief Minister said the government had ensured that the selection process remained fair, transparent and based entirely on merit.
To underline the government’s commitment to an impartial recruitment process, Singh said he had deliberately avoided contacting or meeting the Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission before the declaration of the examination results. He added that he congratulated the MPSC Chairman only after the results were officially announced. “The selected candidates have earned their success through merit. A transparent recruitment system strengthens public confidence in government institutions,” the Chief Minister said. Highlighting the government’s efforts to support future civil servants, Singh announced that the BJP-led state government has introduced the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services with an annual allocation of ₹2.8 crore. Under the scheme, the top 200 civil services aspirants in the state will receive full scholarships to assist them in preparing for competitive examinations.
Retired IAS officer R.K. Nimai Singh, who also addressed the gathering, urged the successful candidates to maintain honesty, integrity and dedication throughout their careers. He advised them to uphold ethical values and remain committed to public service while staying away from corruption and malpractice.
