Manipur gets stronger Concerns about resurgence prompt COVID efforts

At the Raj Bhavan Conference Hall, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla called a crucial COVID-19 review meeting. The chief secretary, senior medical personnel from the State Health Department, and other relevant authorities attended the meeting. This meeting was called in response to recent directions from the Indian government’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), which called for increased readiness because of worries about a potential COVID-19 case comeback.

Officials gave the governor a summary on the state’s readiness during the meeting. Diagnostics, protective gear, oxygen supply, intensive care units and isolation wards, necessary medications, and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme–Integrated Health Information Platform (IDSP–IHIP) portal were among the topics discussed. The officials emphasized the state’s present capacity and preparedness to handle more cases if needed. During the workshop, important issues such as testing capacity, medical supplies, and hospital readiness were discussed.

The meeting emphasized the need for adequate medical resources, continuous monitoring, and enhanced testing facilities in Manipur to respond to COVID-19 cases. Governor Bhalla emphasized proactive measures, strategic planning, and resource allocation. Community awareness was also emphasized, with strategies to enhance public understanding of preventive measures and vaccination. The meeting called for a collective effort from government agencies, healthcare professionals, and the public to navigate the pandemic effectively.
