Manipur government, unc hold first round of talks in senapati district

A high-level delegation of the Manipur government, led by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho and Home Minister K Govindas, held the first round of talks with the United Naga Council (UNC) at the SM Sha Complex in Senapati district headquarters on Monday.
The government delegation, which travelled to Senapati by road, comprised the Deputy Chief Minister, Home Minister and nine MLAs.
The legislators who attended the talks included T. Robindro, P. Brojen, Th. Radheshyam, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Khasim Vasum, J. Kumo Sha, Janghemlung Panmei, Awangbow Newmai and Leishiyo Keishing.
Nine representatives from the UNC also attended the meeting. The talks began at around 11:30 am and concluded by 2 pm.
The meeting was held amid renewed efforts by the state government and Naga representatives to address key issues concerning the Naga-inhabited areas of Manipur.
However, Home Minister Govindas declined to comment about the discussions when approached by the media after the meeting. The details of the discussions have not been made public.
