The Manipur government has approved a proposal to establish a new secretariat police station in Mantripukhri and create 12 sub-divisional police officers (SDPO) posts across the state. The move aims to improve policing capabilities, supervision of investigations, and law and order management in both existing and newly created districts. The new secretariat police station will provide essential services to the new complex and other critical institutions in the area. A dedicated SDPO, New Capital Complex, will oversee the proposed secretariat police station and the existing Heingang police station. The government has also approved the creation of additional SDPO posts to address the shortage of supervisory officers in newly created districts. The posts will be substituted from within the existing DSP/AC posts, ensuring no additional financial burden on the state exchequer.
