NCC cadets celebrate Yoga Day in Manipur

The cadets and officials of the 1(M) Air Squadron NCC came together to commemorate the International Day of Yoga high in the serene highlands of Manipur, where the clouds hover near and the Marjing Polo Statue—a representation of Manipuri culture and bravery—stands proudly. The cadets practiced yoga with discipline and focus while surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature, embodying this year’s theme of harmony, well-being, and unity. In addition to honoring India’s long-standing custom, the event emphasized yoga’s universal message of harmony and wellbeing. The cadets emphasized how yoga helps focus and relax the mind, describing the experience as profoundly important and one-of-a-kind.

They discussed the physical advantages of yoga, such as improved strength, flexibility, and general health, in addition to the mental clarity that makes it a useful practice for their everyday life. The Dandasana and Virasana were among the asanas and’mudras’ (symbolic hand gestures) that pupils were seen executing in aerial images of the Marjing Polo Statue. According to one cadet, the pupils demonstrated how the exercises can increase flexibility by performing at least ten distinct hand placements with the officials.
