NIC Observes Safer Internet Day in Bishnupur

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bishnupur, under the overall supervision of the District Administration, Bishnupur, today organized a one-day Safer Internet Day, 2026 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Bishnupur. Speaking at the occasion, District Informatics Officer (DIO), Bishnupur, R.K. Romita, highlighted the various roles undertaken by NIC in the field of e-Governance and stressed the importance of observing Safer Internet Day. She stated that Safer Internet Day is observed on the second Tuesday of February every year, as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. She further informed that the theme for this year is “Smart Tech, Safe Choices: Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”. Addressing the gathering, Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Sh. Gunamani, stated that the objective of organizing Safer Internet Day is to sensitize people about safer internet practices, digital awareness, and responsible use of online platforms.

The AC further mentioned that the observance of Safer Internet Day is highly relevant in the present digital era, where internet usage has become an integral part of daily life, especially among students and young users During the programme, Kh. Kishore, DIO, Churachandpur, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the topic, elaborating on internet safety, cyber awareness, and responsible use of emerging technologies. N. Premila, Principal, JNV Bishnupur, along with teachers and students, also attended the programme.
