Questions have been raised about why basic facilities such as electricity and at least one fan cannot be provided at centres specifically established to support young children. The issue has also drawn attention because the Assam Government has been developing regular as well as model Anganwadi centres across the state, yet complaints suggest that some facilities continue to face gaps in basic infrastructure. Parents and concerned citizens have appealed to the state government and relevant departments to assess the ground situation and ensure regular electricity supply, proper internal electrical arrangements and basic ventilation facilities at Anganwadi centres.
