Police in Manipur find a huge illegal liquor cache in Pallel

In the Pallel area, which is under the jurisdiction of the Pallel Police Station in the Kakching district, Manipur police launched a liquor drive as part of a search and area control operation. They found and confiscated a number of illicit liquor goods. The illicit booze trade at Pallel market was the target of a team from the Kakching police station on Saturday afternoon. Police confiscated 186 liters of domestically produced country liquor, 15 quarter bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 8 full bottles of IMFL, and 21 half bottles of IMFL during the operation. The seized materials were turned over to the Excise department for legal action, and no one was arrested during the drive. The operation has been linked to the registration of a case.

The operation’s second day’s drive comes after a similar booze drive was held on Friday in the Churachandpur District’s Zoveng region under the Churachandpur Police Station, where a number of illegal liquor bottles were also recovered. Meanwhile, a team from the Special Task Force (STF) Assam captured two female narcotics dealers earlier last week following searches that were carried out in response to reliable intelligence. The Sonapur Police Station is in charge of the 14th Mile, where the operation was conducted at two different locations. During the operation, the STF Assam team recovered 7.292 kgs of what is suspected to be ganja, 355 bottles of IMFL of different brands which was made to be sold in Meghalaya only, 30 pre-rolled cones of congo and 44 Gogo ultra-thin paper which are used in the consumption of ganja.
