Samsung is accelerating the deployment of its latest Android 17-based software, One UI 9, expanding availability beyond its newest foldable lineup. Having launched out-of-the-box on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 following their July debut, the major software update is now transitioning to existing flagship smartphones. The company has opened testing and preparation pipelines for the flagship Galaxy S26 series alongside the Galaxy S25 family, signaling that a stable public rollout for older devices is imminent. The One UI 9 upgrade introduces a suite of new customization options, enhanced AI-driven productivity tools, and upgraded system security. Notable user interface improvements include a redesigned Quick Panel with expanded controls for brightness and media, advanced creative features in Samsung Notes, and improved cross-device connectivity. Following the initial phase for premium flagships, Samsung plans to bring One UI 9 to its broader portfolio—including the Galaxy S24 lineup, mid-range A-series smartphones, and Galaxy Tab tablets—over the coming months. Users can check for software availability under the Software Update section in their device settings or join early evaluation phases via the Samsung Members application.
