Security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during an intensive search operation in Ngariyan Chingyang area of Imphal East district. The recovery is being seen as a significant step in the ongoing efforts to clamp down on the illegal movement of weapons in Manipur’s vulnerable and conflict-sensitive zones.
According to official reports, the search was part of a wider area domination drive carried out across several fringe and vulnerable pockets in the state. These operations have been scaled up in recent weeks following intelligence inputs about the presence of arms stockpiles in civilian areas.
