Senapati Gears Up for International Women’s Day

In alignment with global celebrations for International Women’s Day on March 8, a press conference was held by Mera Yuva Bharat (MYB) Senapati in co- ordination with District Youth Affairs and Sports Office at MYB, Senapati Office, Senapati. Addressing the media, P.S. John Longkhaye, Youth Officer, DYASO Senapati stated that series of competitive sporting events have been announced to inspire and empower women through action. He also stated that the National flagship initiative- ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women through Action) is a collaborative effort to encourage mass participation among women and girls to explore their potential in the field of athletics. The Youth Officers informed that International Women’s Day in Senapati district will be observed on 8th March 2026 at Astro Turf, Senapati.

He continued that the ASMITA event features varieties of track event and a football match highlighting female talent in the district. He also informed that participation is open to all women and girls residing in Senapati district. To compete, athletes must generate a National Sports Repository System (NSRS) ID with Aadhaar Card or visit My Bharat Office located at Old DC Office, he added.

The organizers invited all residents to support and participate in this celebration of female athletic, fostering a community of empowerment a community of empowerment and sportmanship. The press conference was also attended by Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director, MYB Senapati, Pforkrehrii, Khelo India Badminton Mentor, Senapati, P.S. Khopuh, Khelo India Indigenous Wrestling Mentor, all of whom expressed their commitment to the success of the observation of International Women’s Day 2026.
