Swift Action by CISF Officer Saves Life at Imphal Airport

A CISF Inspector, K Bikendra, successfully saved the life of a passenger, Suresh Kumar, who collapsed at Imphal Airport on April 4 due to a suspected cardiac condition. Kumar, who was set to travel from Imphal to Delhi on an Air India Express flight, lost consciousness in the check-in area, prompting immediate intervention from Inspector Bikendra. The inspector performed CPR on the non-breathing passenger and quickly notified the airport medical team. Another passenger, Kiron, a Commandant (Medical) with the CRPF, joined the efforts to resuscitate Kumar, who eventually regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital via airport ambulance. A subsequent update confirmed that he is now stable.

In a separate activity, on March 29, the CISF conducted a Joint Counter-Terrorist Mock Exercise at the IGI Airport in Delhi. This exercise brought together various agencies including CISF’s Quick Reaction Team (QRT), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDDS), Dog Squad, Delhi Police, NSG, and the Medical Services, among others. The primary goal of this exercise was to assess preparedness and enhance inter-agency coordination in response to potential security threats.

Moreover, the CISF has reassured that robust security measures and passenger facilitation efforts are in place at the recently inaugurated Phase I of the Noida International Airport in Jewar. They emphasized their commitment to secure critical infrastructure, stating that they are firmly deployed to provide a comprehensive security architecture and ensure the safe facilitation of passengers.

Additionally, CISF personnel at ASG Shimla have undertaken extensive night firing exercises under near-zero visibility conditions to improve their precision firing skills, decision-making capabilities, and overall operational readiness. These drills were designed to simulate challenging real-world scenarios, enhancing alertness and confidence among personnel in demanding conditions.
