Training programme on census comes to a close in Churachandpur

The three-day district-level training programme for Census 2027 Phase I (House Listing and Housing Census – HLO), which began on February 25 at the District Panchayat Resources Centre (DPRC), Mini Secretariat Campus, Churachandpur, concluded today.
The programme opened with an introduction to Digital Census 2027, highlighting the transition from traditional manual data collection to a fully digital, app-based system. Participants were briefed on key innovations, objectives, and the advantages of the new approach. Sessions also covered core concepts and definitions, including location particulars, building and census house identification, household classification, and house numbering.
Trainers emphasised the importance of uniformity and accuracy in recording census data. Designed to enhance the technical competence of field functionaries, the training sought to ensure the smooth rollout of Digital Census 2027.
Charge Officers expressed their appreciation for the sessions, thanking the resource persons for motivating participants to engage actively, seek clarifications, and build confidence ahead of field operations.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Joel Haokip, ADC, Pherzawl.
Officials further informed that additional field-based trainings for supervisors and enumerators will be conducted prior to the commencement of the House Listing and Housing Census exercise, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared for the upcoming operations.
