Usha backs Thang-Ta Gi Laallong Yendamnaba Competition 2024, boosts Imphal

Usha International, a key player in India’s consumer durables market, partnered with the People’s Development Society and MATAM to host the Thang-Ta Gi Laallong Yendamnaba Competition 2024. Held at Nandeiban Lelkai Community Hall in Imphal East, the event drew over 150 participants across various age groups, with top performers receiving awards from Chief Guest Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba.

Thang-Ta, an ancient Manipuri martial art, blends combat skills with cultural traditions. Usha’s association reinforces its focus on community engagement and grassroots sports. “We’re thrilled to support the growth of Thang-Ta, especially among the youth. This aligns with Usha Play’s vision of connecting people to their heritage while promoting health and well-being,” said Komal Mehra, Head of Sports Initiatives at Usha.

The event also had a positive impact in Imphal, sparking a rise in demand for traditional martial arts gear and boosting local businesses. The convergence of participants, officials, and volunteers provided a significant lift to the region’s economy.
