According to a recent study, taking vitamin D and omega-3 supplements along with regular exercise may help slow biological aging by several months over a three-year period. After analyzing data from over 700 older adults, researchers discovered that those who adhered to this regimen had quantifiable molecular advantages. They clarified that because biological aging occurs at the molecular level, two individuals of the same age may age differently based on their general health.

Between 2012 and 2014, researchers analyzed data from the DO-HEALTH trial to investigate the effects of exercise and supplements on older adults in five European countries. They examined data from more than 700 participants who were 70 years of age or older and were given either a placebo or omega-3, vitamin D, and exercise either separately or together. About half of the participants, who were all based in Switzerland, were healthy and free of significant chronic illnesses or disabilities.
